Saturday night found me babysitting three boys: the best three kids I have ever babysat. We were outside playing a game where one boy had a water gun, and the other boys and I ran around with styrofoam swords. Can you guess who won? Nevertheless, my battle cry became "I am fearless!" as I swooped in and attacked with my mighty sword, facing the stream of dirty water head on.
The more time that passes since then, the more I hear that battle cry, and I keep thinking: how much more appropriate are those three words for the battle of the Lord? How much could we accomplish in His name if only we would adopt that mindset in our spiritual battle? Think about that: I am fearless. That means I am unafraid to reach out; I am unafraid to fall face down and wait on the Lord; I am unafraid to face the stream of Hell-fire face on. I am unafraid. I am fearless.
How many more people's lives could we touch if we weren't afraid of how they would perceive us? How many mistakes could we prevent if we were't afraid to wait on the Lord? How many more sheep could we lead to His flock if we weren't afraid of the big bad wolf? How many amazing and inconceivable wonders could we bear witness to, or do!, if we weren't afraid to do them? Can you imagine the possibilities??
When an army goes into a war, they aren't afraid; these men and women are willing to lay down their lives for their country; they're willing to watch other men and women die, to watch their friends and loved ones die, to protect a piece of land and a flag. How much more important are eternal souls? How much more ready and willing should we be to fight for the Lord? How can anyone that calls themself a Christian be eager and fearless to fight and die for our flag, but have even the smallest inhibitions about fighting and dying for our God?
God calls us to be fearless warriors for Christ. Be fearless!

God: the Lover
You might've heard God referred to as a "lover for the lonely" before. I don't know about you, but at first I kinda giggled a little bit. What are you gonna do, fall in love with a spirit? But then I started thinking about it. You know how when you really love some one, you find yourself thinking about them? And hoping they're thinking about you? Well that's all fine and well (as long as your thoughts aren't dirty), but it kinda sucks when you know for a fact that they aren't thinking about you too... it can even make you more lonely, depressed, etc, than before. But God... fall in love with Him. Think about Him all day, and you'll know for sure that He's thinking about you too... so maybe it's not quite the same kind of romance as another person, but His love is even better than anything a guy or a girl can give you. His love is the utmost form of the word. He thinks about us whether we're thinking about Him or not. He watches us from around the bookshelf, or from around the corner, and never takes His eyes off of us, almost like He's in love with us. We constantly turn away from Him though. Why? We're hurt and lonely and depressed because we want a lover, but then we turn away form the absolute number one lover: Jesus. What is wrong with us? How can we be lonely when the maker of the universe sits with us every second of every day? How we can feel rejected when the god of everything wants us more than anything; so much that instead of sending us a flower or giving us a hug, He gives us the earth, and His own Son. How can we possibly need another person when we have God?!?
It's okay to want a husband or a wife; it's okay to want some one to be with, but try to revel in the fact that you're with God. One day you're gonna walk into Heaven, and God's gonna be like "they're Mine." Be content with the Lord of all before you settle for one of His creations. He loves you like He does; He'll make sure that the one He made for you is worth the wait.

God: the Praiser!!
Okay, so I just find this amazing.
It's not uncommon to read or hear about people praising God. I mean come on, he's amazing. BUT did you know that GOD wants to praise YOU?!
"How can you believe if you accept praise from one another, yet make no effort to obtain the praise that comes from the only God?"
-John 5:44
How awesome is that?? He's the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the guy who created the universe... and he wants to praise YOU! Little insignificant you (no offense).
Let's put this into perspective. I don't know if guys really compliment eachother, but at least for the ladies, how special do you feel when one of your friends randomly tells you that you're beautiful? Or that you sing wonderfully? Or that you have great taste? Or that they love spending time with you? How about when an adult that you really care about says some of those things? Don't you just feel great? It can totally make your day! (at least it can mine).
Now these are just regular people. They may be older, or prettier, or smarter than you, but all in all they're equal to you; no better, no worse. If an adult says something, you feel a little more special because they're older, more respected. If the president were to compliment you, you'd be... ecstatic. Now imagine God.
He wants to praise you!!!!!
He wants to song you a song! He wants to dance for you! He wants to tell you that you're beautiful, or strong, or just plain amazing! God wants to praise you!!!
Remember that, and take it to heart. Make today a beautiful day to not only praise God, but to accept His praise too. He loves you. You're a child of God.
Taa Daa!!

God: the Planner
Let me introduce to you my friend, Kelsey, who is taking an online college class. She asked me the other day to make a schedule for her (and enforce it) to help her get her work done, because she cannot make herself stick to a schedule that she creates. So earlier tonight at about 7:30 I sat down at this computer to make out a list of assignment due dates for her. I was planning a few weeks in advance. The absolute only obstacle was the final deadline... and I tried not to give her work on Friday's since she has other classes that day. That's all. It was about the most simple thing you can plan. It took me an hour and a half to work out a simple homework schedule for my friend. Granted, I may be slow, but you get the point. As I was organizing, thinking, planning, typing, figuring things out, and so on, I began to think about God.
Now God, He planned the whole world in one short week. Even less: six days. He planned, designed and created every plant, every animal, every human...everything. He even went so far in detail as to create millions and millions of these tiny things; things that we can't even see because they're so small, and he planned it out so that these things make the world work (I'm talking about atoms and molecules and cells and stuff like that, in case you didn't catch on). He planned millions of years in advance, knowing what would happen, and planned to send us His son. He planned for the sun to rise and fall each day. He planned for the whale to swallow Jonah. He planned for the second coming of Christ. He planned you. He planned your kids, and your spouse. He planned everything, working around all the faults of humans and all the things we would do to mess things up, since that seems to be about the only thing we're consistantly good at. How amazing is that? How amazing is He? Amazing doesn't even begin to cover God, but I can't think of any word that would. He's got some mad skillz, I'll tell you that. Fo-shizzle!
Some verses about God's plans:
But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.
-Psalm 33:11
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
-Jeremiah 29:11
Some verses for your plans:
He thwarts the plans of the crafty, so that their hands achieve no success
-Job 5:12
Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.
-Proverbs 16:3
Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails.
-Proverbs 19:21
May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed
-Psalm 20:4
